These Terms of Service apply to TAROT (the "Service"), a tarot reading web service operated by Tarokids (the "Service Provider"). By accessing or using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms. Please read them carefully before using the Service.
1. Nature of the Service
TAROT is a content service for entertainment and self-reflection that uses language models to generate and provide interpretive text based on the question you submit and randomly drawn tarot cards. The interpretations do not substitute for medical, legal, financial, psychological, or other professional advice, and you should treat them as reference material only. Please consult an appropriate professional before making any important decision.
2. Age Restriction (Under 14)
The Service is provided for users aged 14 or older. Children under the age of 14 may not use the Service and must not register an account or make payments.
3. Accounts and Security
Certain features of the Service (saving reading history, star top-ups, etc.) require sign-in with a Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and device, and the Service Provider is not liable for damages arising from unauthorized use of your account.
4. Stars and Payments
- "Stars" are paid digital tokens used within the Service to unlock the full interpretation of a tarot reading. Unlocking one full reading interpretation costs 3 stars.
- Stars are purchased on the top-up page through payment processors (Korean payments: PortOne; international payments: Paddle), and are credited to your account immediately upon completion of payment.
- Time of delivery: stars are credited immediately upon completion of payment, and you may use the credited stars to use the Service.
- Star validity period: purchased stars are valid for 1 year from the top-up date. This period has been voluntarily shortened to comply with PG (payment processor) review policies and card-network merchant operating standards. Gratuitous stars, such as welcome bonus or event reward stars, follow their separately stated validity period (typically 1 year or less) and are consumed before purchased stars. Stars are consumed on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis, so stars closer to expiry are used first.
- Expiry notice: at least 30 days before expiry, we notify you via the email registered to your account and via in-service notification of the quantity of expiring stars, the expiry date, and how to use them. Stars that expire unused after this notice are automatically extinguished and are not eligible for refund or extension.
- Per-transaction top-up limit: the amount payable in a single transaction is limited to ₩50,000 or less. This policy is designed to ensure payment safety in line with per-issuer daily limits (e.g., Shinhan Card ₩50,000 per day). If you need more stars, you may split your purchase into multiple payments.
- Refund method restriction: refunds for star top-ups are processed only to the credit or debit card used for the payment. Other refund methods such as bank transfer, cash, or point credits are not supported.
- Purchased stars may not be transferred, redeemed for cash, or sold, and cannot be moved to another account.
- Welcome bonus stars granted upon sign-in (currently 3) are provided free of charge and are not eligible for refund or cash conversion.
- The terms applicable to promotional products such as discount codes and launch specials are stated on the top-up page, and the Service Provider may modify or terminate promotions without prior notice.
5. Refunds
Refunds after purchasing stars are governed by the separate Refund Policy. By completing a payment, you are deemed to have agreed to the Refund Policy.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You must not engage in any of the following:
- Reproducing, modifying, or redistributing the Service, any part of it, or its trademarks without authorization
- Extracting the Service's source code, reverse engineering, or creating derivative versions
- Abnormal access using automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.)
- Misappropriating another person's account or payment method, or making fraudulent payments
- Submitting content that violates applicable laws or public order and morals, or insulting or harassing others
- Causing harm to third parties by misrepresenting interpretation results as fact
If a violation is confirmed, the Service Provider may restrict or terminate your account without prior notice, and any remaining star balance in such cases is non-refundable.
7. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights related to the Service, including its design, text, images, code, and trademarks, belong to the Service Provider or the rightful owners. You retain the rights to the questions you submit, and the Service Provider may process them for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
8. Changes to and Discontinuation of the Service
The Service Provider may change the content, composition, or method of use of the Service at any time to improve its quality and stability, and may suspend or discontinue the Service temporarily or permanently without prior notice. In the event of permanent discontinuation, users holding unused stars will be offered a refund or compensation within a reasonable scope.
9. Disclaimer
- Certain features of the Service depend on external services (OpenAI's language models, Google Firebase, PortOne, Paddle, etc.). The Service Provider is not liable for disadvantages arising from failures, delays, or interruptions of such external services.
- The Service Provider is also not liable for costs or damages arising from your internet connection, your device or browser environment, or mobile carrier data charges.
- Generated interpretations are produced by combining randomly drawn cards with a probabilistic language model, and do not guarantee factual accuracy or future outcomes. You bear sole responsibility for the consequences of decisions made in reliance on the interpretations.
10. Changes to These Terms
The Service Provider may revise these Terms as required by applicable laws or for the operation of the Service. Material changes will be announced via in-service notice or email at least 7 days before the effective date; minor changes such as typo corrections or clarifications of wording will be reflected by posting on this page.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, and any dispute related to the use of the Service shall be submitted to the competent court determined under the Korean Civil Procedure Act as the agreed forum.
